Timing and transits
Gochar: the planets’ movement now, and how it differs from your chart
Gochar is the transit: where the planets are in the sky now. It is different from your birth chart, which is fixed at your birth.
Overview
Why it matters: Predictions often use gochar, for example to say how Saturn or Jupiter is moving through the signs. Your birth chart is the base, and gochar shows the timing of the moment.
A simple comparison
How to use it: Open AstroBooth’s Gochar chart, select your Rashi, and compare the current houses with your birth chart. Then talk to an astrologer about how those transits interact with your Lagna and Dasha.
- Birth chart: the map of the sky at your birth, fixed for life.
- Gochar: where the planets are now, always moving.
- Dasha: a timeline in your birth chart, used for long-term timing.
FAQ
- Does gochar change my birth chart? No. It is a moving picture of the sky, read against your fixed chart.
- Is gochar the same as horoscope? A horoscope often uses gochar, but a full reading also uses your birth chart.
